I have the original, non-Collins-ized version. Serl's Corner. Some of the other "greatest hits" might see retreatment though. There's a Giant themed adventure due out this year, we'll have to wait and see how much they borrow from the G series on that though.

In the words of my good friend Trevor, "Hey, put an arrow in that flying mummy! What could possibly happen? Tracking it just to see what folks will pay for something given away for free, albeit for a limited number of folks.

We must inform the Knights of Furyondy once again!!!!!! For crying out loud, do what you can with the attributes the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys Wow, that's brazen. I'd get it if he was listed as editor or "additional material by Collins", but the level of co-author often implies working with the primary author in some capacity. If anyone has this 4ed. A pipe dream, I know. I'm not a purist so much that I neglect the post-Gygax stuff no offense to those that do.

I personally think Carl Sargent was one of the best authors of the 2nd Edition era. That said I have read that it is actually fairly true to the original and very well done. I am happy that my favorite setting is at least getting a nod in this edition and hope to see a couple of campaign and players guides for greyhawk in the future. I prefer prewar '83 set overall but use parts of post war setting here and there. The elves used a doomsday device to open a gate thinking they were summoning help from the gods.

They opened a gate to the feywild which had been closed and barred from the realms for eons and the eladrin came through in force, destroyed the orc hordes and broke the siege. Afterward rather than go back to the fey wild the eladrin nobles claimed dominion over Celene by noble right and forced the surviving elfs to swear fealty.

Most did so but some fled south to the Ulek states where there is great bitterness between the elfs and the eladrin usurpers. Since its 20, I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with Sounds obvious to me! From being on the WOTC boards and participating in some of the old designer chats I have found the man to be a self important, arrogant, little worm. Skip Williams was 10 times the senior designer he was.

I have always admitted I do like like d20, the pre 3. Not the Collins bastardization that existed at the end. I wouldn't be suprised if he was solely responsible for the power creep of the 3. What most may not have noticed is that there was a major change in the game after Adkinson's departure from WOTC.

I have several of them and have found them some of the best products for that system. Early 3e was similarly good but after Pete left there was a shift to moar powerz and away from the Greyhawk centered game that Pete seemed to want.

Look close at the class splats and the Greyhawk info in them and then later on at how that was moved away from. The sale to Hasbro, Pete's departure and Andy Collins replacing Skip Williams effectively killed the plans he had for 3e.

I think 3e would have been a much better game had he stayed in control of WOTC. I think it more likely that some of those who left were the minority voices against such a thing. Without them to stem the tide, the flood gates were opened.

Village of Hommlet, The (4e Edition)

I just got mine in the mail from the Wizards Play Network yesterday. I was just wondering if anyone else has got it and had a look at it. And yes it is set in Greyhawk though it also keeps the Points of Light feel. I have to say that though I don't haven't played any of the Temple of Elemental Evil adventures before, I'm familiar with them and I think the adventure is a nice tribute to them.
