Book 1 was so good and made you think that the rest of the series was going to be fun and exciting and so adventurous.
Boy was I wrong. This was boring, boring, boring, kinda good and Clover was funny, and then boring again. The idea of having to get through the rest of this AND the next 2 books almost made me want to cry.
But I still felt bad for DNFing it. Then I real 1 star. Then I realised that there are far too many more books on my shelves to get through and I'm not going to love all of them so why not weed out the not so enjoyable ones, to make way for the ones I can look at sitting there and that make me smile.
Surely a smile is better than remembeing not enjoying something. View 2 comments. May 10, Cassia rated it liked it. I really liked this book. At first I was really annoyed with it and how everything was falling apart in Foo. But near the end I became hopeful again and I am excited for the next book. The creatures and the stories behind this book is just amazing. How people come up with things like this I just don't know.
May fate be good to Foo. Apr 16, Qt rated it really liked it Shelves: fantasy. Jun 22, Kerri rated it liked it. There were times when I was pretty certain I had not actually read this book previously. Except for the fact that I knew how it ended. It just carries you along even though this one seemed to be more "build" for the next ones, towards the series climax. There are some interesting occurences and character growth.
What does fate have in store next? Mar 05, Crazy Uncle Ryan rated it really liked it. I thought that the second book started out a bit slow but that is not true of this one. The story has gotten to the point where things are getting a lot more interesting and a lot more information is being reveled and of course, the book ends with a couple of shocking revelations that making me more anxious than ever to see where the story will go once book 4 is published.
Jul 31, Christina rated it it was ok. The more I read this series, the less I like it. The plot lines are really imaginative, and I enjoy some of the bantering conversations in the book and the humor, but I was honestly bored most of the way through the book.
There is no engagement of the reader in these books -- no clues to pick up on, no foreshadowing, just one sticky situation after another. The characters are flat and there just isn't any depth to this. Lots of the subplots don't come together or make much sense I suppose they' The more I read this series, the less I like it. Lots of the subplots don't come together or make much sense I suppose they'll resolve in the later books? Jun 25, Wendy rated it liked it.
This is an interesting story line and I'll probably finish the series. I like the imagination of the author that create such fantastical possibilities. However, this book is very different from, say, "Wrinkle In Time. In each book, I've found myself having to relearn about the characters and the rules which seem to conveniently change that govern them. View 1 comment. So far I'm not really liking this book as much as the first two.
Which is good because there all following the same plot. But unlike the other two books, there is not as much action, intense parts of the book. It seems like the writer ran out of ideas and started using things like the worlds biggest popcorn, or forget-me-not water, and just other things that have been used many times. Sep 16, Maigan rated it it was ok Shelves: fiction. There was a huge hype about this series because the author came to our school and everything, so I got excited and tried to read the whole thing.
It wasn't that good, and now I regret it because I have a signed copy of the second book and it's personalized he signed it "To Maigan" and I'll probably never read it again I never finished the series, and part of me wants to, part of me doesn't Jan 13, Michelle rated it really liked it Recommended to Michelle by: piano student.
This book was much better than the second. It was adventurous and exciting. He was great. Can't wait for "Leven Thumps and the Wrath of Ezra"! Mar 12, Shelby rated it it was amazing Shelves: fantasy , young-adult-fiction.
What a journey for leven, to find who the want was, and what leven became. I was impressed with this book, and very excited for the next one to come. Aug 26, JJ rated it did not like it. I did NOT finish this book, I don't get it.

Meanwhile Geth and Winter are trying to find Azure as, Azure is recruiting 10s of thousands of rants as well as nits and cogs for the battle of Foo and reality, that surely will happen.
LEVEN THUMPS AND THE EYES OF THE WANT
Skye continues to squander the promise of Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo in this third of a projected four volumes. Slowing the pace to a drawn-out ramble and stuffing the multiple plot lines with more additions to an already bewilderingly large cast, he sends stodgy Leven and his never-serious sidekick Clover one way, toward the mysterious sage known as the Want. Meanwhile, allies Geth and Winter go another to discover that the dream land of Foo is aboil with plans to break down the barrier that separates it from Reality, and to revive something called the Dearth. The ingenious twists and distinctive prose that animated the opener have turned into self-indulgence. A sly, side-splitting hoot from start to finish.
