I could se some threads about communication via DP-DP coupler. Is there any converter to convert the data anyhow? Thank you. Add new comment. The controller is not optimised for OPC communications to a third party device and you can have some very serious problems if the OPC transfers are not configured correctly. If you do decide to use an OPC link then it is important that you use the correct uddate intervals 3 sec 9 sec or over 30 sec and only write to properties that are supported.

You can search this forum or see the manuals for further advice. Hello Rob. Thank you for your answer.

If I understood well you do not think OPC is good way how to do it. I hope that this board is available. What I soulh use on Siemens side?? Best regards, Jiri. Thank you for your commnent. Regards, Jiri. No MB is propetary you will need a serial interface card for it. Please do check first if your AC supports it. MB I cannot use because it is used for xA communication and it is proprietary network..

I will have to ensure what we exactly have in existing AC configuration.. So I should look for "Serial modbus". I wrote that wrong. MB is an ethernet protocol which is proprietary. For modbus you need an extra interfac card and a software option on the prom card in the AC Ok, thank you.

Anyway, I cannot use MB I can use Modbus.. I have to find out what can we do on site. Thank you for your support. I can post working Profibus configuration in AC if you are interested. Definitely Profibus setup in AC is not user-friendly at all. Hi Kamil. OK, thanks for your answer. I would prefer some ethernet communication, so I will try to find out how to make it through OPC data transfer..

On the other hand, this type of communication is not so time deterministic as profibus communication. I will have to find out what are the possibilities on ABB side - than we decide what to use. Thank you for Profibus setup comment.

I have already some experiences with profibus communication in AC and you are right - it is not user friendly at ll : : Thanks. Best regards, Jiri Kocian. If you don't have that, my preferred way ti Profibus. Regards, JRG. Question App Login Help. Comments 0 New comment. Georgio Rank: Asked 2 years ago. Voted best answer 1. In any case, a serial link of some kind is the preferred option. Rob Lyon Rank: 2 Answered 2 years ago.

I would stay away from profibus on the AC, it's cumbersome. WvanWees Rank: 7 Answered 2 years ago. Other questions needing answers. Advant Controller Advant Controller RMC. MasterBus Advant Master.
