It covers all the social issues and concerns very nicely esp from examination point of view. It's really a nice book to cover all necessary social problems This books deals with the social aspects of the common issues. It gives a brief overview of other perspectives but largely you will be left wanting.
For example, on the issue of " Crime against women", it gives a pretty in-depth analysis of the social root, causes,classification, measures etc but it failed to address the law and policies adopted by the government. Further, the book is not updated. It mentioned the Criminal Law amendment, but it failed to point out even the main features I think this is a very good to cover the various social issues present in India. Especially if one is running short of time.
