Draco pulled six silver objects from his dragon hide pants. They glowed slightly where they touched each other. You could have learned a lesson about friendship or espionage or possibly seduction. Draco growled at me and, with a burst of light, the pieces united into an ornate, silver key. He stomped towards the door and stuck it into the lock. All you had to do was believe in yourself!

I read this before reading the Deadly Hallows and I remember it was even weirder when Snape turned out not to be a bad guy after all - relatively speaking. It's fanfiction but it was still very good and I'll probably read it again now that it's been almost 10 years.
Can't give it the 5 stars because JKR! In fact, the writing is great and the plot is great. I'd love to read something original by Melinda Leo. There's t I read this before reading the Deadly Hallows and I remember it was even weirder when Snape turned out not to be a bad guy after all - relatively speaking. The one that was best depicted is Ron in my opinion. I'm astonished at the similarity in plot between this and the Deathly Hallows as both explanations for Harry view spoiler [being a Horcrux hide spoiler ] make sense.
Finally aside from the fact that this is fanfiction, it's a young adult book more that it's a children's book because there's too much focus on relationships. View all 6 comments. Mar 14, Utkarshj rated it it was amazing. I read this book before the real one came out. But wow, it was awesome. Its hard to differentiate her writing from JKR's. The plot and horcrux theme is in direct continuation with the story line and there are hardly any inconsistencies.
It draws heavily from the previous books and even predicts some horcruxes correctly if my memory serves me right. The only regret you will have after reading this book: You might sometimes mix the 2 st I read this book before the real one came out. The only regret you will have after reading this book: You might sometimes mix the 2 story lines, its that good :P Bonus: Hardly anyone dies in this one Sep 20, Shayan Kh rated it really liked it.
I started reading this by a mistake. I thought I was reading a parody of Harry Potter, but it was a serious fanfiction. This book was great as fanfictions go.
It was notably different than JK Rowling's style, more romantic, but it was a complete work. And considering it was published before Deathly Hollows, I'm surprised of how much of the canon Melindaleo has predicted. There are things in this book that feels like a Deus Ex Machina. The overall magical progress of the main characters is one of the weak points of this book IMO.
But the worst part for me was the 3 paragraph at the end of the epilogue. Just why?! Feb 25, Sarina rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: any HP lover. Shelves: favourites , fantasy-and-or-magic , thrill-with-a-sense-of-adventure , unique , my-ebooks , everything-to-do-with-hp , fanfic. I read it a long ago. After knowing it was not written by J. Rowling, I was a bit unhappy. A writing of this caliber should not go unnoticed.
Truly, it almost fooled me into believing that I was indeed reading the last book in the Harry Potter series. Then the real 7th HP book came and I forgot all about this fanfic. Recently, I remembered and searched for it again.
I've found it! May 12, Monique rated it really liked it Shelves: own , to-read-again , ebooks. I read this well before the real book seven and found it a fitting end to the entire series. Perhaps you will too. Aug 19, Clay rated it it was amazing Shelves: fantasy. I read this before the final Harry Potter book. In all actuality, I liked it better than the Deadly Hollows. Better than original in my opinion. Jun 01, Pamela rated it it was ok. Tried it on a secondhand recommendation. The beginning was actually a not terrible facsimile of Rowling, but it got far too obsessed with pairings.
I also only counted mention of six horcruxes Apr 15, Thomas rated it really liked it. This is more on the lines of what a teenage should be doing it has some inconsistencies but is a good lecture maybe to juvenile. Aug 13, Yatin Diwakar rated it it was amazing. This is just amazing. I had a copy of this for years, received in stead of original HP7, a few days before the release. Once i realised this is fake, i had not read it coz i would have messed up the storylines in my head. When i finally read it a few days ago, i felt this was a much better story than the original.
Ofcourse, the hallows are the super-magical items in the original while here she makes Harry larger than life. Some predictions are spot on, you start to feel if she wrote this after the o This is just amazing.
Some predictions are spot on, you start to feel if she wrote this after the original or she had any access to it? You can think of parts of this story as being what was happening in Harry's mind while he went along in the original book.
Jan 11, M1ssb3rry rated it really liked it. This was a pleasure to read again : I love the way this is written I loved the adventures, the drama, the twists-and-turns that this story took There was a lot of focus on relationships but that was okay, because I knew it wasn't the real thing so it was fine : This was a good good story and even though the ending is a hell of a cliffhanger and scary in its own right, it makes sense with the way that particular character was written :.
The Seventh Horcrux
October 31st was an ordinary day for Voldemort, sitting on his throne chastising his minions' various vices until he was informed about the location of a family that had thrice defied him he knew; after all, he keeps a list of such things. Months after attempting to dispatch a child of the prophecy he didn't know the entirety of, he finds himself remembering his life as Voldemort, now inhabiting the body of an infant. Upon reflection, he decides to go back to his one true goal from before the drunken bender that accidentally cemented him as the Dark Lord: to become the DADA teacher. Seventh Horcrux by Emerald Ashes Spacebattles thread is a fanfic that takes itself seriously enough that it can be confused on whether it's a parody or a retread of canon. Community Showcase More. Seventh Horcrux [HP, AU]
Chapter 1: Harry Potter vs. October 31st, began as a fairly normal day — arranging raids, crucioing incompetents, lazing about on my throne — yet it seemed that everything my followers did irked me. Bellatrix crouched at my feet, sneaking glances and occasionally emitting dreamy sighs — exactly the sort of behavior that caused me to turn myself into a nose-less snake. Rabastan Lestrange was playing a game called Curse the Recruits, the recruits were screaming, Nott was paging through one of my Dark tomes, and Lucius had disappeared to go brush his hair or something. There were worse ways to spend Halloween, I supposed. I paused for a moment, contemplating the Death Eater's words. The Potters were Dumbledore's minions, the ones with the prophesied child.
