Written Paper. Effect of coccidiostats on necrotic enteritis and performance in broiler chickens. Engstroem B. Fossum O. Hassan S. Ecole Nationale Veterinaire de Toulouse France. Lookup at Google Scholar. Elwinger K. Five anticoccidials, lasalocid, maduramicin, monensin, narasin and halofuginone, were compared in an experiment embracing Ross broiler chickens.
The chickens were raised in 24 floor pens birds per pen. The drugs were incorporated in two different feeds, A and B. Feed A was designed to correspond to optimal nutritional requirements while feed B had higher quantities of animal protein and had been used previously in a trial with an outbreak of necrotic enteritis NE. There was no evidence of coccidiosis in any group. Necropsy revealed NE in a low number of chickens given feeds A and B and the incidence of necrotic hepatitis at slaughter was noteworthy.
Improvement of production performance was observed in chickens receiving anticoccidials. However, this effect of anticoccidials varied. In several aspects narasin gave the best performance. Significant differences were also found regarding the effects of the drugs on water intake and on litter condition.
Narasin resulted in drier litter beds than the others. Bibliographic information. Idioma : English. Tipo : Journal Article. Volume : Extent : v. All titles : " Effect of coccidiostats on necrotic enteritis and performance in broiler chickens. Congratulations Publications saved.

Beneath the imposing Kollen Mountain lies a small village where the children run in and out of one another's houses and play unafraid in the streets. But when a naked body is found by the lake at the top of the mountain, its seeming tranquillity is disturbed forever. Inspector Sejer, a tough, no-nonsense policeman whose own life is tinged by sadness, is called in to investigate. As the suspense builds, and the list of suspects grows, Sejer's determination to discover the truth leads him to peel away layer upon layer of distrust and lies in this tiny community where apparently normal family ties hide dark secrets. Critically acclaimed across Europe and loved by fellow crime writers including Jo Nesbo, Ruth Rendell and Colin Dexter, Karin Fossum's novels evoke a world that is terrifyingly familiar.
