Recomiendan el abrazo del oso, abrazo frontalmente y con fuerza a la otra persona y empleando los dos brazos, dndole un abrazo total. Nos dicen que, practicado con asiduidad, tiene efectos muy positivos, tanto fsicos como psicolgicos. A veces saco mi libreta -dice un doctor- y receto cuatro abrazos al da: uno con el desayuno, otro con el almuerzo, otro con la comida y otro antes de acostarse.

I am funny about people touching me, but this book exhibits the importance of hugs and how they are important to our overall well-being. The Hug Therapy Book teaches us that hugs are important for everyone. They are needed to create peace and love and alleviate the loneliness we feel today. If you know me, you know I like to give and receive hugs--and here it was. A book on hugging as therapy. It's really short and quite cute! The illustrator, Noland, uses polar bears!!

I guess I don't consider myself a hugger, mostly because I don't really like touching people I don't know that well! But Keating sets out some great points about the benefits of hugging, which have strengthened my resolve to hug my friends and family more. In particular, I resolve to practice the "grab-and-squeeze" on Arthur when he is not expecting it, as I think this would be great fun.
