LA ESTRELLA MAS BRILLANTE MARIAN KEYES PDF

I don't think Keyes' books are perfect--the framing narrative of this one is so cheesy I can't even describe it without laughing--but her characters are great as a year-old, I found Katie to be perfection , her plots move, and when I've been caught in a cycle of low-key or depressing reads a Keyes novel is exactly what I need to feel like I can breathe again. I don't know what it is with Marian Keys fiction books but some how it is always a pleasure to read them. Especially her last books. Only one so far I did not really like was Angels. She has a gift of drawing you in to her characters and make them come alive. It is not so that from page 1 I am sucked in but slowly she manages to grab me and I have a hard time putting the book down.

I like the fact that people in her books have real problems. Can't wait for her next book but at the end of this one she tells us she only writes 1 book every 2 years so guess I'll have to wait.

Are there any other writers you would recommend that write a bit like her? This book started out very weirdly. I have to say that I was very worried that I wouldnt like this book. I love Marian Keyes as an author and have read all of her previous books. So I had high hopes for this book. After the first or so pages it sucked me right in and I even stayed up late reading so I could finish it because I couldn't stand to be patient.

There were times when I thought that I had figured out what was going to happen next in the plot and Marian Keyes surprised me and went in a totally different direction than what I had thought was going to happen.

This book kept me on my toes and held me in awe of suspense. The story takes place in Dublin, Ireland and follows the lives of the residents of 66 Star Street. From ups and downs and all the things in between, I have to say that this book was a very good read and I had my doubts at first, but I knew all along that Ms.

Keyes wouldnt disappoint. I think that Marian Keyes has decided to take writing her novels in a different direction. I was expecting the predictable love story where the girl gets the guy, but have to say that what you expect is not what you get in this novel, which was a breath of fresh air. It's been a long time since I have read a book that truly left me wondering what was coming next and that I had to stay up all night and read because I just couldnt wait to finish it. So glad I got the chance to early review her book.

Can't wait until the next release. As with all the other Marian Keyes books that I've read over the years, this one did not disappoint me. It provides an engaging story with characters that seem far more real than I find in most chick lit books. But while the book is not the light fluff that you find in most chick lit, it is still light enough to be able to pick it up for a few minutes here and there and pick up where I left off before without having to backtrack to remember the story.

The only negative thing I'd say is that the ending wasn't quite as satisfying as some of Keyes' other books. Description: Four flats, four sets of tenants, and one mystery. At least one of the residents of 66 Star Street is in for a major life change.

But who will it be? These neighbors have no idea that a smart-mouthed, almost all-knowing spirit is stalking their lives, looking to make some changes. My thoughts: Matt and Maeve are madly in love, yet seem to be living a strangely empty life. Lydia and her two Polish roommates hate each other Katie definitely loves Conall, but they just can't seem to make it work. And Jemima The people of 66 Star Street are a bit of a crazy bunch, but you can't help but love them.

Marian Keyes has an incredible gift for creating characters that stick with you, the kind of characters you are going to miss when you finish the book. With keen insight and amazing talent for making every situation amusing, Keyes takes the reader on a journey through these lives, and the lives they touch. There's also a bit of a mystery. Exactly who is the strange spirit narrating the story, which life is it going to change, and in what way?

I don't know if maybe I'm just dense, but it did take me quite a while to figure out what was going on. Even then, there were a few pieces that eluded me until almost the very end. Which is perfect, exactly how I like it. It did take me a few chapters to get into this book. There is a large cast of main characters, and their storylines don't start to intersect other than geographically until fairly far on in the book. For me, this made it a bit tough to get into the story. Once I did get into it, I loved it.

So if you start out and it's feeling a bit slow, I encourage you to keep on reading. Content warnings: This is an adult novel. There is a fair bit of foul language, and sexual content moderately graphic. I don't want to to give any spoilers, but there are also a few distressing situations, though I thought they were well-managed so as not to be overly disturbing.

I always know I can rely on her for a fantastic story and she just keeps getting better and better. Her writing is infused with wit and humor and I loved the characters and how they're lives intersected at 66 Star Street. I loved how she took two very serious subjects and handled them so well and left the reader with such hope.

Marian is a brilliant author and I am already looking forward to her next book! See more. Most helpful negative review. Average Rating: 1. Marian Keyes is one of my all time favourite authors. I have all her novels and have read and re-read them over and over. But this last one was dismal and such a disappointment.

I just didn't enjoy any of the characters or the plot. Hopefully her next one will be better, I am waiting in anticipation! Frequent mentions. Average Rating: 4.
